Refrigeration Service Technician

As a Refrigeration Service Technician at CoolSys, you will be responsible for:
- Repairing and overhauling equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices, and other similar machinery
- Testing malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills
- Maintaining legible corporate and personal records of work history
- Providing general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors
- Performing preventative maintenance activities, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and operating efficiency of mechanical equipment
- Working on minor construction and remodeling projects, including startups of new installations
To be successful as a Refrigeration Service Technician at CoolSys, you will need:
- Completion of a refrigeration technician training program (HVACR) from a technical school or completion of a technical program from a junior college
- A valid EPA certificate
- 1-3 years of commercial refrigeration experience
- Equivalent passing grade, 80% or better, on Tek Skills Level 3 test
- Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets, familiarity with single systems and rack systems, and previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes
- A good driving record and ability to work independently
- Emergency on-call availability
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. with no assistance and sit and/or stand for several hours
