About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Journeyman to join our team at Disability Solutions. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical environment of our facilities is in excellent condition for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, and install HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including compressors, condensers, pumps, electrical and pneumatic control systems, fans, humidifiers, electronic filters, air compressors, electric motors, heat exchangers, and miscellaneous valves and pipes.
  • Work with consultants and suppliers to troubleshoot systems or equipment and system upgrades, reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, manufacturers' manuals, blueprints, sketches, and written instructions.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration equipment, completing reports of maintenance inspections, including maintenance work completed, supplies used, recommendations for the equipment, and next service date.
  • Oversee the work of Construction/Maintenance Technicians, Laborers, and Groundskeeper, directing and teaching assigned staff members basic principles of repair or installation of assigned projects.
  • Inspect buildings, premises, and equipment to determine requirements for maintenance, replacement, construction, or renovation projects, assisting with acquiring estimates of cost, labor, and materials.
  • Assist in evaluating bids and necessary specifications to meet hospital standards.
  • Operate all Agency equipment in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines or recommendations, demonstrating safety awareness while performing assigned duties.
  • Act as department supervisor in the absence of the Director of Building and Maintenance, ensuring the needs of the agency are met and completed in a professional and timely manner.
Requirements
  • Active licensure as a Mechanical Journeyman with the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board.
  • Five years of experience in skilled building trade or maintenance work involving construction, maintenance, alteration, and/or repair of buildings, grounds, and utilities, including two years of supervising employees or contractors.
  • Ability to maintain and repair various types of heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning equipment, install various types of heating and air conditioning components, provide guidance and training to assigned work crews, perform highly independent work, read and interpret blueprints, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Working Conditions

  • Lifting, pushing, or pulling 50 pounds.
  • Climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Providing professional work-related references and immunization records.
