Job Title: Child Protection Investigator

Job Summary:

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as a Child Protection Investigator. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and investigating reports of alleged child abuse and neglect, assessing the immediate safety of children, and initiating appropriate levels of child protection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate reports of child abuse and neglect in a timely and thorough manner
  • Assess the immediate safety of children and initiate appropriate levels of child protection
  • Prepare investigation reports and present findings to relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families
  • Provide support and guidance to families and children in need
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in social work or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in child welfare or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel
