Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Child Life Specialist to join our team at Carle Health. As a Child Life Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping children and their families navigate the healthcare system, reducing stress and anxiety related to medical procedures and hospitalization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the needs and concerns of children and families, developing individualized plans of care to promote optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide evidence-based interventions, ensuring the best possible care for patients.
  • Provide education and support to families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their child's care.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Life or a related field, with completion of a Child Life internship.
  • Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) certification within one year of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in using electronic medical records.
