About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Shamin Hotels. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain properties, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.
  • Replace air-conditioner filters and notify management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • Tend to furnace, air-conditioner, and boiler to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests.
  • Maintain equipment with standard preventative maintenance procedures and record maintenance and repair activities.
  • Program phone equipment according to hotel needs and work with and train hotel maintenance staff in a variety of areas.
  • Maintain quality of appearance of interior and exterior of hotel, including painting and staining walls, trim, and doors, and repairing wallpaper, carpet, sheetrock, and doors.
  • Keep an orderly and well-stocked inventory of finishing supplies needed in the hotel and maintain a superior quality in the guest rooms.
  • Check operation of all guest room equipment, correct minor problems, and report major problems to General Manager.
  • Keep records of rooms completed and ensure par stocking of regularly used parts and supplies.
  • Inspect and repair minor problems in common areas and be responsible for learning emergency procedures.
  • Be responsible for safe operation of all equipment, chemicals, and lockout procedures and report to work for scheduled shift, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree, technical school and/or equivalent experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Math skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Customer Service Skills required.
  • Prioritization and time management skills required.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail.
