Job Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable Staff Accountant who possesses a robust understanding of accounting standards and practices. The Staff Accountant will play a pivotal role in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and advising on necessary actions.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Engage in the monthly financial closing activities by creating journal entries, conducting reconciliations, and performing analytical reviews of specific general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and proper valuation.


2. Assist with various audit processes, including coordinating requests among team members, preparing and reviewing necessary documentation, and tracking audit deliverables and issues.


3. Conduct research on accounting regulations, company policies, and other relevant guidelines to model, document, and implement new accounting practices.


4. Analyze company policies and federal regulations to assess the allowability and allocability of costs, providing recommendations to management.


5. Monitor and evaluate accounting data to support the generation of financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders, including tax and regulatory reporting.


6. Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the accounting department, focusing on enhancing internal documentation, standardizing procedures, automating processes, and improving internal controls.


7. Support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of five years of experience in accounting or a related area.

• Strong knowledge and practical experience with GAAP accounting principles.

• Previous experience with ERP software solutions is essential.

• Comprehensive understanding of financial and governmental processes, coupled with strong analytical skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment while meeting deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Familiarity with SAP is preferred.

• An active Secret clearance is required due to the nature of the work.

• A background check will be conducted post-offer.
