Job Summary

The University of California-Davis is seeking a highly skilled Director of Development to join our team. As a key member of our Development and Alumni Relations department, you will be responsible for leading fundraising efforts and building strong relationships with donors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, alumni, and other stakeholders to secure major gifts and increase philanthropic support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and pursue new funding opportunities and partnerships.
  • Provide exceptional donor stewardship and recognition to ensure long-term relationships and continued support.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in fundraising and development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced professional frontline fundraising experience, with a proven track record of securing major gifts and building strong donor relationships.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a higher education or non-profit setting.
  • Knowledge of development and fundraising techniques, including prospect identification, research, and stewardship.
  • Ability to travel frequently, with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
