Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Test Engineer/LabVIEW to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the development, maintenance, and execution of automated electro-mechanical test platforms using LabVIEW software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automated electro-mechanical test platforms using LabVIEW.
  • Create and maintain Virtual Instrument (VI) programs for process automation and data logging.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with existing test platforms.
  • Ensure test lab computers are well-maintained and liaise with the IT department for unresolved issues.
  • Design electrical schematics for test fixtures.
  • Document test procedures, results, and system configurations accurately.
  • Perform static, abuse, and cycle testing on airplane water and waste vacuum systems.
  • Operate in a production and test environment, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assist technicians with test setups and ensure tests are completed on time.
  • Coordinate activities to align with shifting priorities and due dates.
  • Serve as a knowledge resource for specific program test requirements.
What You Will Learn

You will gain valuable experience in the complexities of potable water systems in commercial aircraft and the effects these systems can have on flight. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of new technologies in hands-free operations, reduced water consumption, and more.

Qualifications

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 8 years of relevant experience OR Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function, and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
