Job Summary:

The Associate Technical Designer will play a critical role in ensuring the fit and quality of our products. This individual will work closely with our design team to create specifications for each style, measure and check construction details, and communicate with manufacturers to ensure that our products meet our high standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain product specifications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Measure and check construction details on initial samples, salesman samples, and pre-production samples.
  • Communicate with manufacturers to ensure that our products meet our quality standards.
  • Work with the design team to create new silhouettes and maintain fit requests for new styles.
  • Review garments with designers, identify problem areas, and suggest fit adjustments to resolve fit issues.
  • Develop and maintain pre-production requests and samples, ensuring that they meet our approved specifications.
  • Communicate fit changes and approvals to manufacturers, request revised samples if necessary, and update records accordingly.
  • Seek new ways to improve the fit process and share ideas with the team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical design, design, or pattern making required.
  • 2+ years' experience as a technical assistant or fit technician.
  • Knowledge of garment construction and spec grading required.
  • Pattern making, sewing, and draping experience strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Office, macOS, and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop) skills required.
