Position Title:
Building Automation System Integrator

Compensation Range:
$31.25 - $43.25/hour based on experience

Position Overview:

The Building Automation System Integrator is responsible for the installation and programming of Direct Digital Controllers (DDC). This role includes commissioning, performing Point to Point verification, troubleshooting, and validating DDC network communications for both new construction and retrofit projects.

Key responsibilities include assisting in the design of graphical displays while adhering to the guidelines established by the System Development Team, Engineering, and Project Management. The integrator will also inspect and validate systems, assist with panel assembly, follow installation protocols as directed, and execute system commissioning tasks.

Additionally, the role requires interpreting blueprints, building schematics, and DDC control drawings, as well as attending site meetings and providing regular updates to the Project Manager.


Core Responsibilities:
1.

Develop and program databases for all supported systems to align with specified operational sequences and equipment manufacturer recommendations, ensuring compliance with company standards.

2.

Conduct calibration and checkout of control systems through Point to Point verification, ensuring that operational sequences and commissioning requirements are fulfilled promptly.

3.

Collaborate with the graphics coordinator to supply the necessary labor and expertise for the development and delivery of graphical user interfaces, in accordance with project design and contractual obligations.

4.

Provide technical support to customers regarding building/system operations and maintenance of temperature control systems.

5.

Offer feedback to the Controls engineer to assist in the creation of as-built documentation.

6.

Effectively manage time to ensure timely completion of assignments within budgetary constraints.


Qualifications:

Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in DDC/System Programming.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management abilities.
  • Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.

Preferred Experience:
  • Background in electronics and basic electrical circuits.
  • Familiarity with DDC Control Theory and Applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with UMC teams, clients, engineers, and property managers.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Skills in ACAD and Visio.

Experience Requirements:
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the Building Automation Industry.
  • Experience with HVAC and/or Mechanical systems.
  • Training and certification in electrical theory and/or electronics.
  • Preferred experience with Tridium Niagara and Distech products.
  • Computer and networking skills are advantageous.

Additional Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
