Building Automation System Integrator

Compensation Range:
$31.25 - $43.25/hour

Position Overview:

The Building Automation System Integrator is responsible for the installation and programming of Direct Digital Controllers (DDC). This role includes commissioning, conducting Point to Point verification, troubleshooting, and validating DDC network communications across both new construction and retrofit projects.

Key responsibilities include assisting in the design of graphical displays within the established design and budget parameters set by the System Development Team, Engineering, and Project Management.

Additionally, the integrator will inspect and validate systems, support panel assembly, adhere to installation protocols as directed by site representatives, and perform system commissioning tasks. Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, building schematics, and DDC control diagrams is essential. Participation in site meetings and providing daily updates to the Project Manager is also required.


Core Responsibilities:
1.

Develop and program databases for all supported systems to align with specified operational sequences and equipment manufacturer recommendations, adhering to company standards and control drawings.

2.

Conduct calibration and checkout of control systems through Point to Point verification, ensuring compliance with specified operational sequences and commissioning requirements.

3.

Collaborate with the graphics coordinator to deliver graphical user interfaces as required for projects, based on design specifications and contractual obligations.

4.

Provide customer support regarding building/system operations and maintenance of temperature control systems.

5.

Offer feedback to the Controls engineer to assist in creating as-built documentation.

6.

Manage time effectively to ensure timely completion of assignments within budget constraints.


Qualifications:

Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in DDC/System Programming.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with electronics and basic electrical circuits.
  • Understanding of DDC Control Theory and Applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with UMC teams, clients, engineers, and property managers.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Skills in ACAD and Visio.

Experience:
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the Building Automation Industry.
  • Background in HVAC and/or Mechanical systems.
  • Training and certification in electrical theory and/or electronics.
  • Experience with Tridium Niagara and Distech is preferred.
  • Computer and networking skills are advantageous.

Licensing:
  • Must maintain a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
