Position Summary:

As a Cloud Solutions Architect at HireVue, you will work closely with our Chief Technology Officer to steer the architectural vision of our platform. You will be entrusted with the responsibility of fostering continuous enhancement and critically assessing the return on investment of our technical choices.

Your role will involve mentoring engineering teams on architectural best practices, as well as crafting and evaluating technical design documentation and standards. Your primary focus will be on developing solutions that are robust, scalable, and high-performing. As an architect, you may need to create reference implementations for the team to follow, assist in optimizing database queries, propose more efficient solution implementations, or contribute code in various areas of our platform as necessary. This may involve working with technologies such as JavaScript, .Net, Python, Terraform, among others. You will be expected to lead by example and tackle technical challenges that enhance user experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning and Design:
    • Architectural Design: Formulate high-level architectural designs and technical specifications for cloud-native applications and systems, ensuring they align with business goals and technical requirements.
    • Technology Evaluation: Research emerging cloud-native technologies and recommend solutions that improve system performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
    • System Integration: Design and oversee the integration of various products, platforms, and services, ensuring seamless interoperability and data flow.
  • Development and Implementation:
    • Software Development: Collaborate with software engineers to define requirements and create detailed design documents and user interfaces for cloud-native applications.
    • Cloud Native Approaches: Plan, configure, and manage cloud resources using platforms like AWS or Azure, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance with industry standards.
    • Automation and CI/CD: Establish continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes, enhancing development efficiency and reducing time-to-market.
  • Observability and Resiliency:
    • System Monitoring: Implement observability practices and tools to monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and ensure the reliability of cloud-native applications.
    • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, providing guidance and support to development teams and end-users as necessary.
    • Scalability and Performance: Enhance system performance and scalability through load balancing, auto-scaling, and other cloud-native practices.
  • Lead the architectural direction of the HireVue platform, ensuring the utilization of optimal development techniques, architectural patterns, frameworks, and libraries.
  • Own and resolve complex problems identified in our systems and integrations.
  • Identify opportunities to share knowledge and lessons learned across delivery teams.
  • Delegate tasks to teammates and collaborate with them to ensure their success.
  • Recognize technical debt reduction opportunities and work with engineering leadership and product management to prioritize these activities.
  • Ensure quality patterns are established to facilitate thorough automated testing at each level of the testing pyramid.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience architecting SaaS solutions; 12+ years preferred.
  • Highly proficient in languages such as JavaScript, .Net, Python, Terraform, or other relevant technologies.
  • Experience working effectively in a global virtual environment.
  • A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Industry certifications such as:
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
