Work Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position is not eligible for remote work.

Additional Earnings: This role qualifies for an end-of-year bonus.

Position Responsibilities:

Bluestaq is seeking a Principal Program Manager to oversee critical programs from inception to completion, leveraging your program management and systems engineering expertise. You will play a pivotal role in understanding software development for military applications and aligning teams with Bluestaq's strategic vision. Your effectiveness in this position will hinge on your ability to manage the intricacies of program management, your proficiency in agile methodologies, and your exceptional communication skills.

Key Duties:

  • Relationship Development: Foster strong relationships with Bluestaq clients, stakeholders, and partners, uniting the team towards common goals.
  • Program Management: Navigate programs from conception to execution, focusing on strategic planning, diligent monitoring, and effective control.
  • Leadership: Drive cross-functional team initiatives, aligning efforts with Bluestaq's strategic objectives while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Scheduling Expertise: Develop comprehensive planning and scheduling to maintain flexible and successful program timelines.
  • Program Reporting: Refine our program planning and reporting practices, ensuring meticulous documentation and insightful analysis.
  • Technical Guidance: Utilize your technical knowledge and operational insights to positively impact program outcomes, resolve conflicts, and build consensus.
  • Customer Focus: Serve as an advocate for clients within development teams, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet project deadlines while addressing customer needs.
  • Innovation in Management Tools: Innovate with tools such as Confluence and Jira, creating dashboards and templates that deliver critical operational insights.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience: 12+ years in Program Management and Systems Engineering, with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Defense Sector Knowledge: Practical experience with the US Space Force and military background is advantageous.
  • Agile Methodologies: Strong understanding of Agile and traditional program management principles, capable of leading diverse teams effectively.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build trust and guide teams and stakeholders through influence.
  • Mentorship: Strong mentoring capabilities, complemented by excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Risk Management: Proficient in identifying and mitigating potential risks to program success.
  • Analytical Skills: Skilled in evaluating alternative solutions and making informed decisions.
  • Multitasking Ability: Capable of managing multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly.
  • Commitment to Growth: High level of personal ownership and a continuous desire to learn and adapt.
  • Travel Requirements: This position may necessitate CONUS and OCONUS travel.

Education Requirement: 12+ years in Program Management and Systems Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree, or an associate degree with 4 additional years of military or civilian analysis or operations experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree, or a High School Diploma with 12 additional years of combined engineering and space operations experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. US Citizenship is mandatory for clearance eligibility, and candidates must agree to undergo a background screening and credit check.

Relocation Policy: This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must reside in the immediate area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
