Job Title: Outdoor Experiential Education Manager

Wabanaki Public Health and Wellness is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outdoor Experiential Education Manager to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in planning and developing program strategies for outdoor experiential learning, coordinating and planning trips, supervising and supporting a team, and providing training and expertise for outdoor experiences and support educators who implement project venture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement program strategies for outdoor experiential learning, including research and analysis of national evidence-based practices and tribal best practices.
  • Coordinate and plan trips, including logistics, safety, and risk management.
  • Supervise and support a team of staff and volunteers, including training and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide expertise and support for outdoor experiences, including curriculum development and implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Wabanaki Community and Cultural Connections (WCCC) and Project Venture Team to develop new programming options and implement grant deliverables.
Requirements:
  • Registered Maine guide certification.
  • University degree or college diploma in public health, health, education, or a related field, and two years of previous experience, or six years of experience in public health, health, education, youth-serving profession, or a related field.
  • Experience working in tribal communities, with youth, and in outdoor recreation settings.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple competing projects.
  • A strong work ethic and enthusiasm, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
