Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Treasury Accounting, located in Foster City, CA, will spearhead Visa's treasury accounting division, encompassing cash management, settlements, investments, and derivatives. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Corporate Accounting and oversees a team of four professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the monthly closing process for all treasury-related transactions, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Serve as the authority on all treasury accounting issues.
  • Manage cash accounting for over 40 accounts across more than 10 legal entities utilizing the Quantum cash accounting system.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the Quantum system and its integration with the Oracle general ledger, including the setup of new bank accounts and GL accounts.
  • Direct the accounting of settlement collaterals and Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL).
  • Conduct pre-close and post-close variance analyses, providing insightful commentary on activities, trends, and significant transactions.
  • Utilize sound judgment to interpret and apply US GAAP accounting standards and corporate policies.
  • Foster strong relationships across various business functions such as Treasury, Tax, Strategic Ventures, and Technical Accounting to ensure accurate transaction recording.
  • Collaborate with global accounting team members managing intercompany settlements to ensure proper transaction resolution through Quantum.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of 10K and 10Q filings, including related footnotes and disclosures for Treasury accounting.
  • Identify potential treasury-related risks and propose effective recommendations and solutions to mitigate these risks.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through systematic, pragmatic, and efficient methods, including the automation of manual processes and standardization of operations.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation, and providing recommendations as necessary.
  • Participate in quarterly audits and provide necessary documentation for financial reporting.

Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing employees to alternate between remote and office work. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to be in the office 2-3 designated days per week, based on business needs.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years with an advanced degree, or 2+ years with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in accounting with a focus on Treasury Accounting, CPA or equivalent certification, strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly ASC 815, ASC 820, and ASC 320, and experience with CECL accounting.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, relevant Sarbanes-Oxley experience, and proficiency in financial systems and treasury accounting applications.

Exceptional analytical skills, strong team collaboration, proactive change orientation, and excellent communication abilities are essential.

Additional Information:
This role may require occasional travel (5-10%). The position will be conducted in an office environment, necessitating the ability to sit and stand at a desk, communicate effectively, and operate standard office equipment.
