Job Description

Duke Health seeks a skilled Organ Acquisition Center Manager to lead the Duke Transplant Center (DTC) Organ Acquisition Center. This critical role requires strategic thinking, effective communication, and excellent leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer and coordinate operational activities of the Organ Acquisition Center, making decisions on specific operating problems and issuing instructions in accordance with DTC policies and procedures.
  • Plan, develop, and implement goals and objectives of the center, evaluating program objectives on a continual basis and implementing changes to existing policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations, monitoring costs and expenditures of program activities and authorizing expenditures of center funds.
  • Participate in establishing and maintaining communication between ancillary departments and physicians, nursing personnel, and other healthcare professionals regarding center policies and procedures.
  • Plan and conduct meetings with staff to ensure compliance with established practices and keep employees abreast of current standards, developing training and employee orientation programs in conjunction with others.
Requirements:
  • BSN required; Master's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Five years of nursing experience, with at least two years in transplant or critical care.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina required; BLS certification also necessary.
