Role Summary:

Baker Book House Company is seeking a dedicated Editorial Assistant to join our editorial team. This role involves collaborating with project editors and providing essential support throughout the editorial workflow.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee reprint adjustments in collaboration with design and production teams to ensure timely project completion.
  • Edit and coordinate materials from marketing and visual communications, including promotional content and product presentations.
  • Assist editors with various editorial tasks such as proofreading and index evaluations.
  • Conduct final checks during the book production phase, including preproduction assessments and reviews of proofs and digital files.
  • Manage routine administrative duties, including scheduling meetings, preparing necessary documentation, and facilitating communications for colleagues.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will hold a master's degree in biblical studies, theology, church history, or a related discipline, along with a passion for academic publishing in the religious sector. Proficiency in proofreading is essential. Candidates should exhibit strong editorial skills, exceptional attention to detail, and basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Word.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. As a full-time employee, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan after three months of employment.
