Unit Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Unit Manager to oversee the Housing Unit operations, Shift Supervisors, and Youth Care Specialists at Youth Opportunity Investments, LLC. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in working with children with serious emotional disturbances or substance abuse problems in a residential setting.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the housing unit, ensuring the overall safety and well-being of the residents.
- Supervise assigned personnel, including making and monitoring work assignments, evaluating performance, providing training, and conducting individual and group meetings as needed.
- Assist in developing work schedules, distribute duties among personnel, and arrange for additional personnel as needed to ensure effective operation of all functional areas of the facility during assigned shifts.
- Coordinate youths' appointments and transports, and assist with intake/discharge procedures as needed.
- Ensure compliance with state rules and regulations, facility policies and procedures, and security of various facility areas as assigned.
- Administer medication and maintain accurate documentation regarding prescription medication to youth.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances or substance abuse problems in a residential setting.
- Prior supervisory experience in a related setting is preferred.
- Working knowledge of and ability to assist in assessing youth regarding chemical dependency, substance abuse, and physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.
- Effective verbal and communication skills with co-workers, other stakeholder departments, Probation Officers, caseworkers, law enforcement, and court personnel.
