• Manages all facets of environmental regulations at the facility.


• Prepares and submits necessary documentation as mandated by laws, permits, or agency requirements promptly.


• Works closely with production teams and leadership to ensure adherence to all permits and relevant regulations.


• Facilitates and/or guarantees completion of environmental training in accordance with DOT/IATA, RCRA, SPCC, HAZWOPER, and other standards.


• Reviews and approves all plant Compliance Evaluation Reports (CERs) concerning environmental standards and potential impacts.


• Serves as the primary contact for regulatory bodies.


• Provides guidance and support to plant staff in all aspects of environmental regulations.


• Leads inquiries into all environmental incidents.


• Collaborates with the plant leadership team and essential personnel to uphold the RC14001 management system; engages in audits (both internal and external), management-of-change events, and management reviews.


• Works with the plant leadership team and key personnel to ensure prompt reporting of incidents, inspections/audits, agency interactions, and sustainability performance metrics within the management information system.

Required Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.


• Minimum of five years of experience in environmental compliance within an industrial or plant setting.


• Familiarity with RC14001, ISO14001, ISO9001, and/or other ISO-based management frameworks is preferred.


• Comprehensive understanding of Illinois and USEPA regulations (air, wastewater, waste, DOT, and other applicable laws) and necessary reporting requirements.


• IEPA Class K Wastewater License is preferred.


• Strong planning, analytical, and communication abilities.


• Self-motivated and adept at problem-solving.


• Highly organized with the capability to maintain thorough records and files.


• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
