Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Veterinary Support Specialist to join our team at Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center. As a key member of our hospital staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform daily cleaning of kennels, cages, pet walk areas, and public spaces, adhering to strict disease control protocols.
  • Supply Management: Restock kennel and cleaning supplies as needed, ensuring a seamless operation.
  • Animal Monitoring: Keep the Shift Lead Technician informed of any observed animal behavior, health concerns, or unusual incidents.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist with general maintenance tasks, including use of step-ladders and ladders, to ensure the facility remains safe and functional.
  • Laundry and Disinfection: Clean, fold, and stock kennel laundry throughout the hospital, and assist with disinfection of dishes and supplies.
Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members and leadership.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to stand, bend, kneel, walk, reach, and move continuously during an 8-12 hour shift, with the ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate strong self-starter capabilities, with the ability to self-manage and prioritize tasks on a daily basis.
  • Adaptability: Remain calm during high-stress situations and be willing to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
