Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between clinical nursing staff and administration, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide clinical support to nursing staff, serving as a mentor and role model to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with hospital leaders, physicians, and other team members to provide exceptional patient care and services.
  • Develop and implement employee and patient education programs to enhance knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary for quality outcomes.
  • Adopt a performance improvement approach that ensures important processes and activities are measured, assessed, and improved.
  • Serve as the designated on-site hospital administrator for after-hours, ensuring continuity of care and administrative support.
  • Assess and respond to administrative on-call contacts during assigned shifts, providing timely and effective support.
  • Exercise leadership and decision-making skills in the absence of the Administrator or department managers.
  • Project a professional image and maintain a working knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Utilize personal computer and software applications to support job functions, including word processing, graphics, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Meet the requirements for education and experience outlined below.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Five (5) years of progressive acute care or long-term acute care nursing experience in critical care, emergency room, or step-down/telemetry units.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervision or charge nurse experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
