Position Overview

An esteemed client in the energy sector is seeking a Desktop Support Technician II to enhance their operational capabilities. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing both project coordination and technical support for infrastructure initiatives, ensuring alignment with business needs from corporate and field operations.

The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as the main contact for all IT-related inquiries at the designated location. This entails taking full ownership of IT challenges, facilitating appropriate escalations, and ensuring that the underlying causes of technical issues are identified and resolved effectively.

Travel Expectations

  • Willingness to travel extensively, potentially up to 80%, including rare overnight stays.
  • Must possess an excellent driving record, with no significant violations in the past three years.
  • Travel radius is approximately 200 miles, with occasional longer trips.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with PC support, LAN/WAN configurations, Site-to-Site VPN, and wireless solutions, preferably Cisco.
  • Familiarity with Server 2019, Cisco networking equipment.
  • Proficient in setting up and managing mobile devices (iOS, Android, etc.).
  • Experience with printer setup and IT Service Management software, preferably BMC Remedy.
  • Physical capability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must meet travel criteria.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the energy sector.
  • Relevant certifications such as A+, Net+, MCP, MCDST, or HDI.
