Job Overview

Embark on a remarkable culinary journey with Scratch Restaurants Group. We are currently seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to enhance our prestigious dining experience at Pasta|Bar Los Angeles, a Michelin-starred establishment.

This role is pivotal in maintaining our commitment to excellence and innovation in the culinary arts. We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic work environment where creativity and quality are paramount.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a collaborative and respectful rapport with the culinary team, management, and ownership.
  • Oversee the receipt of all products, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality, adhering to our stringent receiving protocols.
  • Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring seamless service.
  • Lead by example, motivating the team to continuously improve and strive for excellence.
  • Engage actively with guests, enhancing their dining experience through thoughtful interactions.
  • Participate in daily service operations, providing support to team members as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, holding a valid Food Protection Certificate.
  • Contribute to inventory management and purchasing processes on a regular basis.
  • Prepare necessary documentation, including reports and schedules, in an organized manner.
  • Ensure adherence to performance appraisal policies for all staff members.
Qualifications
  • Proven supervisory experience in a high-end culinary environment.
  • Experience with multi-course tasting menus.
  • Minimum of three years in a professional kitchen, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong communication skills in English, along with basic math and computer proficiency.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as required.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead a team independently.
