Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing and procuring new products for the Marketplace at Edward Don. This role will involve researching new products, obtaining samples and pricing, and presenting recommendations to the Market Manager for final decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Sourcing: Research and source new products for the Marketplace, under the guidance of the Market Manager.
  • Sample Procurement: Obtain samples and pricing for new products, and present recommendations to the Market Manager.
  • Order Placement: Place orders for new products when approved, and coordinate deliveries.
  • Category Analysis: Provide recommendations and analysis on the performance of categories and products, to inform pricing decisions for the Market Manager.
  • Vendor Management: Identify new vendors, and be the point of contact for new vendors, ensuring relationships are maintained.
  • Inventory Management: Approve invoices, receive products, and maintain inventory.
  • System Setup: Set up new products in accounting and POS systems.

Requirements

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a grocery store or convenience store setting, preferably in a clerk, stocker, or deli role.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with cash handling, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other accounting software.
