Key Responsibilities:
As a Warehouse Associate, you will be an essential member of the REI Team, serving as a primary entry point into our Distribution Center operations. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our products reach customers efficiently. This position encompasses various responsibilities within the Distribution Center, including but not limited to:
- Handling merchandise (picking and storing items)
- Receiving shipments and processing incoming goods
- Price marking and splitting items as necessary
- Shipping and packaging specialized customer orders
- Managing cardboard and waste for operational efficiency
- Preparing and assembling bicycles
What We Value:
We seek enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join our Distribution Center staff and contribute to REI's mission as the largest consumer co-op in the nation. You will be responsible for accurately moving products throughout the warehouse. After training and certification, you may have the opportunity to operate power equipment such as pallet riders. Associates will rotate through various areas based on business needs and team performance.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or related field
- Comfortable working with computer systems and/or RF equipment
- Experience operating power equipment safely (valid driver's license required)
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Commitment to safety for oneself and the team
- Basic mathematical skills
- Flexibility to work in multiple areas as needed
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work well with others
- Open-mindedness and adaptability to support team direction
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
- Ability to consolidate information from various sources for decision-making
- Awareness of the impact of decisions on customers
- Effective goal-setting and prioritization skills

- Physical capability to lift and move boxes weighing 20 to 30 pounds, with a maximum of 65 pounds
- Able to stand or walk for 8-10 hour shifts
- Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures
- Willingness to take on additional duties as required
