Role Summary
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training services at designated locations. This role involves conducting group classes, engaging in train and play sessions, and providing private lessons. You will also be expected to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to advance to a Senior Dog Trainer role within a short timeframe.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Independently conduct New Dog Integrations, Behavior Evaluations, and Walk Assessments.
- Facilitate group classes, private lessons, and Train and Play Sessions with minimal supervision.
- Maintain direct communication with clients regarding their dog's behavior and training outcomes.
- Effectively communicate the behavioral needs of dogs to all relevant personnel.
- Train staff on recognizing essential dog behaviors to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Drive revenue through training services based on the specific needs of clients.
- Document all client interactions and dog observations accurately.
- Learn effective communication techniques to advocate for clients.
- Engage in continuous learning about dog behavior through company resources.
- Assist in off-site events as needed.
It is anticipated that approximately 75% of Dog Trainers will be promoted to Senior Dog Trainers within 6-12 months. Candidates must demonstrate the following:
- Expertly fulfill all key responsibilities independently.
- Conduct group classes, Train and Play Sessions, and private lessons autonomously.
- Advise clients on a wide range of behavior issues and provide suitable recommendations.
- Generate revenue beyond the training department.
- Articulate the full range of services offered by Biscuits & Bath.
- Ensure the implementation of proper safety protocols.
- Proactively educate associates about dog behavior.
- Accurately document all pertinent information.
- Quality of training services provided.
- Frequency and effectiveness of client communications.
- Personal sales achievements.
- Quality of training provided to associates.
- Rate of self-development.
- Job stability with a reputable organization.
- Continuous professional development opportunities.
- Long-term client relationships.
- Support services (scheduling, billing, etc.) managed by others, allowing more focus on training.
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience in positive reinforcement-based dog training and behavior modification.
- Ownership of an iPhone or Android device.
- Familiarity with Biscuits & Bath and a genuine passion for canine welfare.
- Ability to understand each dog as an individual with unique traits and histories.
- Capability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High level of independent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Physical fitness to lift dogs over 50 lbs and perform job-related tasks.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation.
