Role Summary
As a Lead Canine Behavior Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in fostering comprehensive wellness for dogs, establishing numerous trust-based relationships with both clients and their pets. Your responsibilities will encompass traditional training services, facilitating the integration of new dogs into a supervised environment, conducting behavioral assessments, and assisting in the training process.
Core Responsibilities:
- Delivering Comprehensive Wellness Solutions for All Dogs
- Facilitating the integration of new dogs into the supervised care environment
- Conducting Behavioral Assessments for potential clients
- Performing Walk Evaluations for dogs in the walking program
- Organizing and promoting weekly Puppy Play Groups and other community events
- Engaging in discussions about total wellness with training and potential clients
- Training Dogs and Conducting Private Lessons
- Leading Group Training Sessions
- Administering Train and Play sessions, including timely follow-up reports to guardians
- Business Development and Client Engagement
- Maintaining consistent communication with clients through various channels
- Documenting all interactions and prioritizing high-value clients
- Collaborating with management to identify key clients for focus
- Mentoring and Developing Team Members
- Training Apprentice Trainers to advance their skills
- Working alongside dog care staff to ensure safety and happiness
- Additional Duties
- Managing training equipment and supplies
- Ensuring all locations are equipped with necessary training materials
- Maintaining educational standards, including earning continuing education credits

- High School diploma or GED
- Preferred CPDT-KA certification
- Minimum of three years of experience in positive reinforcement dog training
- Ownership of a smartphone (iPhone or Android)
- Familiarity with the company and a genuine passion for canine welfare
- Strong customer service and sales aptitude
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Physical fitness to handle dogs weighing over 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation
