Role Summary

As a Canine Training Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional training services at designated locations. This role encompasses conducting group classes, engaging in train and play sessions, and offering personalized lessons. You will be expected to cultivate the necessary skills and knowledge to advance to a Senior Canine Trainer within a short timeframe.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Independently execute New Dog Integrations, Behavior Evaluations, and Walk Assessments.
  • Conduct group classes, private lessons, and Train and Play Sessions with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain direct communication with clients regarding their dog's behavioral progress.
  • Effectively convey the behavioral needs of dogs to all relevant personnel.
  • Educate team members on recognizing key dog behaviors to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Drive revenue through tailored training services based on individual dog behavior needs.
  • Thoroughly document all client interactions and dog assessments in the designated system.
  • Master communication techniques to advocate effectively for clients.
  • Engage in continuous learning about canine behavior through available resources.
  • Assist in off-site events as needed.
Pathway to Senior Canine Trainer: It is anticipated that approximately 75% of Canine Training Specialists will progress to Senior Canine Trainers within 6-12 months. Candidates must demonstrate the following:
  • Independently manage all key responsibilities of the role.
  • Conduct group classes, Train and Play Sessions, and private lessons autonomously.
  • Provide comprehensive counseling to clients on various behavioral issues.
  • Generate revenue beyond the training department.
  • Articulate the full range of offerings available.
  • Ensure that safety protocols are consistently followed.
  • Proactively educate team members about canine behavior.
  • Accurately document all pertinent information.
Performance Evaluation Criteria:
  • Quality of training services provided.
  • Frequency and effectiveness of client communications.
  • Personal sales achievements.
  • Quality of training provided to associates.
  • Rate of self-improvement and development.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in positive reinforcement dog training and behavior modification.
  • Ownership of an iPhone or Android device.
  • Familiarity with the company and a genuine passion for canine welfare.
  • Ability to understand each dog as an individual with unique traits and histories.
  • Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of independent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Physical fitness to handle dogs weighing over 50 lbs and perform job-related tasks.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation.
