Position Overview

JOB SUMMARY: This role is dedicated to engaging both relative and non-relative caregivers through the provision of comprehensive family support services. The position encompasses a wide array of training and development initiatives, assessment services, and consultations, all of which require meticulous documentation of the services rendered. The individual will also play a pivotal role in the organization's ongoing quality enhancement efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Introduces and engages caregivers in Level 1 Licensing for Foster Homes, the Guardianship Assistance Program, and Kinship services.

2. Establishes contact with families via phone or in-person within 48 business hours following a referral.

3. Provides education to families and community partners regarding Level 1 licensing, the Guardianship Assistance Program, and Kinship Services.

4. Ensures high-quality documentation and tracking of families served.

5. Maintains regular communication with all families on the active caseload through home visits, office meetings, phone calls, or written correspondence.

6. Coordinates with assigned Child Placing Agency (CPA) licensing personnel to support relative caregivers in fulfilling licensing requirements within a specified timeframe.

7. Aids families in acquiring necessary items or making household adjustments to comply with Level 1 licensing standards.

8. Supports children residing with relative caregivers to remain outside of the foster care system.

9. Assists both relative and non-relative caregivers in completing the necessary training to meet Level 1 licensing criteria.

10. Completes Level 1 licensing documentation with families and collaborates with CPA staff as needed.

11. Communicates and coordinates with Kinship staff to ensure families receive navigation services effectively.

12. Demonstrates leadership as needed, addressing challenges within the program and participating in project or team committees as directed.

13. Engages in weekly supervision meetings with the Program Manager to discuss family interactions, training, professional development, and program enhancements.

14. Operates within the philosophy and mission of the Children's Home Network.

15. Participates in quality assurance evaluations of program services, outcomes, and documentation.

16. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Language: Proficiency in Spanish and Creole is preferred.

Education & Experience: A Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field, accompanied by at least one year of experience working with children and families. Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

- Valid Florida driver's license with no criminal driving offenses or license suspensions.

- Means of providing job-related transportation and proof of required insurance.

- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

- Successful completion of FDLE clearance, federal background checks, and sexual predator screenings.

- Child Welfare Certification approved by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to establish strong working relationships with families, colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders.

- Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of the agency's organizational structure and policies.

- Familiarity with child abuse and neglect reporting procedures.

- Knowledge of quality documentation standards as required by agency regulations.

- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
