Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative. As a key member of our Front End team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide fast, easy, and friendly service to customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience
  • Assist customers with their purchases, answering questions and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
  • Unload customers' groceries from carts to belts, ensuring efficient and accurate checkout processes
  • Check the bottom of every cart and under all baby seats for items before completing an order
  • Follow correct bagging procedures, using the correct type of bags for each item
  • Scan customers' orders and handle payment transactions, following standard procedures
  • Maintain accurate cash control, handling cash, checks, coupons, gift cards, and other forms of payment
  • Follow procedures for refunds and error correction, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout process
  • Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take their order to their car, including Food Lion To-Go orders
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, retrieving shopping carts from the parking lot and cart corrals
  • Report any register malfunctions or cleaning issues to the Customer Service Manager or MOD
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
  • Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
Working Conditions

The Customer Service Representative will work in a fast-paced retail environment, with frequent interactions with customers and colleagues. The position requires standing for long periods, frequent walking, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment, maintain a positive attitude, and provide exceptional customer service in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
