This pivotal role involves the meticulous inventory, cataloging, digitization, and management of archaeological collections in alignment with NAGPRA regulations. You will play a vital role in supporting the Archaeology Collections Manager/NAGPRA Coordinator and the Curator of Archaeology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inventory and reorganization of archaeological collections
  • Manage sensitive NAGPRA collections and engage in consultations
  • Develop catalog records within a database for collections and relevant documentation
  • Assist in project management and the preservation of collections
  • Engage with visitors, respond to inquiries, and conduct tours
  • Perform a variety of tasks to support the team effectively

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology or a related discipline
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with museum practices and standards
