Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team at Rose International. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our EHS management system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of our safety management system and develop continuous improvement plans to enhance performance.
  • Engage all employees in driving cultural change and achieving safety performance objectives and targets.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, as well as JCI corporate safety systems.
  • Conduct incident investigations using a formal process to identify root causes, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Provide effective training on safety programs, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, fall protection, and hazard communication.
  • Develop and implement motivational and incentive programs to promote a high degree of safety awareness and enthusiasm.
  • Establish, record, and track safety performance metrics, including leading and lagging indicators.
  • Review planned changes and new equipment installations prior to receipt, and approve or recommend changes in manufacturing and engineering matters.
  • Train all new employees on plant safety rules and guidelines, and work with management to provide a safe attitude, surroundings, and equipment.
  • Assist in managing workers' compensation and reducing costs by working closely with insurance carriers, JCI workers' compensation manager, attorneys, and state authorities.
  • Help implement the corporate Environmental Health Safety Information System, collect safety data, and implement proactive corrective action items.
  • Assist with the administration, implementation, and compliance with the ISO14001 and 45001 EHS Management System.
  • Present safety and environmental training programs to workers and supervisors, using standardized materials and developing site-specific training materials.
Requirements
  • Degree in Industrial or Occupational Health and Safety required.
  • ASP, CSP, or COSHO preferred.
  • 3-5 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the following fields: JHA, MOC, Ergonomics, Crane Safety, ANSI, NFPA, HAZCOM, HAZWOPER.
