Our collaboration with NASA spans over four decades, primarily supporting various space flight initiatives. While most tasks are centered around a specific research facility, additional industry partners and governmental organizations may also be engaged as directed.

Key Responsibilities:
This position is exclusively for graduating High School Senior Apprentice candidates.
The selected individual will collaborate with a team to operate and maintain instrumentation and electrical systems in support of wind tunnel operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. Adherence to safety protocols and existing policies is essential, alongside maintaining high standards of quality and craftsmanship in all tasks.

Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship is mandatory. A High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. A strong desire to explore STEM fields beyond traditional classroom settings, with hands-on training, mentorship, and guidance.

Work Environment:
Office setting (20%). Industrial/Test Environment – Potential exposure to high noise levels, energy sources, hazardous materials, and industrial settings (75%). Travel between facilities and during testing operations may be necessary, potentially involving exposure to loud noise and hazardous equipment (5%).

Physical Requirements:
Must possess adequate mobility to access confined spaces and navigate various assemblies while prioritizing safety (50%). Possible exposure to high noise levels and hazardous materials (20%). Appropriate personal protective equipment and training will be provided for all conditions. Must be capable of walking, standing, bending, twisting, and sitting for extended periods, as well as climbing, crawling, and lifting up to 35 lbs (30%).

Equipment and Tools:
Facility operations display/keyboards/mechanical/electrical control/HMI, standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc.) (30%). Operate relevant equipment; design, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products, including industrial machinery and equipment, power systems, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments. Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to evaluate design proposals for enhancing equipment performance or to gather data for development, standardization, and quality assurance.

Attendance:
Regular attendance is essential (100%). Potential for overtime or work outside of standard hours may be required (5%).

Additional Responsibilities:
U.S. Citizenship is required. A valid form of identification is necessary. A driver's license is not mandatory. Ability to work effectively in a team environment is crucial. Professional conduct that fosters productivity and teamwork is expected. Grooming and attire must be suitable for the role and not pose safety risks. The work environment necessitates the ability to collaborate with individuals at all organizational levels. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Employees are expected to diligently develop a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task undertaken. The SPA is a company-provided tool designed to prevent incidents, accidents, and injuries; it is a critical resource that must be utilized.
