Maintenance Director Job Description

At August Healthcare at Wilmington, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address potential safety hazards and maintenance needs.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and provide support as needed.
  • Develop and implement energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to reduce our environmental impact.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in facilities management and maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role in maintenance or facilities management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
