We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at Charleston County Human Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily transmittals, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process daily transmittals from the outreach department
  • Sign and fax transmittals to vendors for approval
  • Coordinate with the outreach bookkeeper to ensure timely submission of pledge sheets for payment
  • Balance funds with the outreach bookkeeper to ensure accuracy and availability of funds
  • Reconcile invoices and journal entries with the Senior Accountant or Finance Director
  • Maintain check files and file copies of checks in vendor files
  • Submit reports as directed and assist with bookkeeping tasks as needed
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in accounting or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping functions, working closely with AP/AR
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, with basic Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
