Essential Qualifications:
  • Must currently hold the designation of Lead Physical Therapist
  • Active and reachable on the relevant Civil Service eligible list for Lead Physical Therapist
  • Eligible for 70.1 transfer with current permanent status in a comparable title recognized by the NYS Department of Civil Service
*Must possess a valid License to practice as a Physical Therapist and have a minimum of one year of post-licensure physical therapy experience.

Advancement:

Requires one year of service as a Physical Therapist, along with a valid license and registration to practice physical therapy in New York State.

Open Competitive:
*Must have a valid License to practice as a Physical Therapist and at least one year of post-licensure physical therapy experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess individuals' therapy requirements based on functional performance as prescribed by a physician
  • Formulate treatment plans detailing strategy, objectives, and anticipated outcomes
  • Oversee and implement physical therapy interventions
  • Collaborate with individuals, families, caregivers, and community organizations for seamless care post-discharge
  • Evaluate and document individuals' progress
  • Engage in interdisciplinary treatment teams
  • Educate other physical therapy personnel and service providers on therapy methodologies and objectives
