AAMCO Transmissions stands as a premier authority in transmission services and intricate automotive repairs. We are in search of a highly skilled technician or equivalent; your role will encompass a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair tasks, including engine and transmission replacements, as well as diagnosing various automotive issues. This position entails articulating technical evaluations and necessary repairs to the Sales Representative/Front End Management. We seek an individual who is dedicated to uncovering solutions to challenging problems and possesses a commitment to prioritizing customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and rectify automotive systems, which include engine, drivetrain, braking, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, air conditioning, computer systems, and transmissions.
  • Oversee the workflow within the shop by evaluating and delegating tasks to technicians based on job type, required qualifications, and current workload.
  • Support fellow technicians in executing technical tasks, ensuring quality repairs are achieved on the first attempt.
  • Communicate issues identified during vehicle inspections to service advisors/front end personnel and technicians.
  • Accurately document findings to ensure precise repair cost estimations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop environment at all times.
  • Uphold safety protocols within the shop, ensuring compliance from all technicians.
  • Ensure that shop-owned equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a valid driver's license. (mandatory)
  • Have professional-grade tools necessary for servicing a variety of repairs.
  • Exhibit punctuality and a positive demeanor in the workplace.
  • Demonstrate a safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
  • ASE Certifications are preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing all automotive systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in removing and reinstalling major component systems, including all elements of the drive line.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and conducting both mechanical and electrical diagnostics, including drivability assessments.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Possess a positive attitude and a commitment to customer service.
