Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Tech to join our team at Optum. As a Nuclear Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for adhering to radiation safety protocols, demonstrating proficiency with radiopharmaceuticals, and maintaining the cleanliness of the nuclear camera and associated equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols, including a basic understanding of Facility Radioactive Materials (RAM) licensure, radiation exposure control for patients, staff, and general public, personnel monitoring devices, area radiation monitoring and surveys, and handles radiation decontamination according to Federal and State guidelines.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with radiopharmaceuticals, including proper selection, ordering, handling and preparation, storage and disposal, and proper radioactive materials documentation.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the nuclear camera and associated equipment in accordance with the infection control policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a course in Nuclear Medicine Technology approved by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for registry eligibility.
  • Active WA state license or pending application.
