Nuclear Medicine Specialist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a vital role in patient diagnosis, progress, and medical research. This position requires collaboration with physicians to provide high-quality images for interpretation.
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients, utilizing high-level imaging equipment to record images of the radioactive material in the patient's body.
Key responsibilities include calibrating instruments, reviewing calibration data, and detecting instrument malfunctions. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist also evaluates recorded images for technical quality and processes computerized image data.
Additionally, this role involves maintaining inventory supplies, records of orders, and radioactive material disposal. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist may provide instruction and technical guidance to radiologic technology students or other advanced imaging technicians.
Requirements include a graduate degree from an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program and/or meeting state required educational and licensing/certification standards. At least two years of experience in the Nuclear Medicine field are also necessary.
