Job Title: Central Sterile/Case Cart Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Central Sterile/Case Cart Supervisor to join our team at OU Health. As a key member of our Adult Sterile Processing Department, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the processing, storage, and distribution of processed sterile supplies, instruments, equipment, and Case Carts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the central sterile processing department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee the processing, storage, and distribution of processed sterile supplies and equipment, ensuring that all items are properly sterilized and stored.
  • Monitor the surgery case schedule and ensure that all necessary instruments and equipment are available and ready for use.
  • Conduct in-service education programs for staff members to ensure that they are properly trained on all aspects of sterile processing and Case Cart preparation.
  • Assess departmental processes and develop plans to improve processes as needed, ensuring that all procedures are compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of services.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree required.
  • Three (3) years hospital experience in sterile processing with 1 to 3 years demonstrated leadership experience required.
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Central Processing Technician (CRCST) certification required.
  • Secondary leadership certification, such as Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) or Certified in Sterile Processing Management, required within 12 months.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) or Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist (CSIS) certification.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
