Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Program Aide to join our team at Save the Children. As a Program Aide, you will play a vital role in providing educational, relational, and social experiences for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, fostering their growth and development in all domains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist classroom staff in all classroom activities, including lesson planning and implementation.
  • Support the Teacher in various aspects of the program, such as Family Nights, copying newsletters, and preparing materials.
  • Provide custodial support, including cleaning, stocking bathrooms, and ensuring buildings are secure.
  • Assist with food preparation, serving, and clean-up, adhering to local, state, and federal standards regarding hygiene and sanitation.
  • Participate in food service tasks, such as inventory and cleaning, as requested.
  • May be required to serve as a Bus Monitor or substitute for regular Cook or Assistant Cook as needed.
  • Attend all workshops, meetings, and required staff and parent activities.
  • Stay informed about Head Start Program Performance Standards and local child care licensing regulations.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Certification as applicable by federal, state, or local Head Start or child care regulations.
  • Basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to relate sensitively with children and work effectively with staff, parents, and families.
