Job Summary

Randstad Digital is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Center Engineer/Manager to join our team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity that will be 100% onsite in Brea, California, with typical business hours and occasional night and weekend work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain data center infrastructure, including power and cooling systems, fire suppression systems, and SNMP management.
  • Monitor data center performance and reliability, identifying potential issues and taking proactive measures to address them.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as hardware upgrades, patch management, and firmware updates for UPS and CRAC units.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices to protect data center assets from unauthorized access.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration between data center infrastructure and other systems and services.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to data center infrastructure, hardware inventories, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for data center operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data center operations and infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of HP and IBM server hardware, including rack-mount and blade servers, Arista, Cisco, and NetApp hardware.
  • Experience with networking protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Proficiency in operating systems such as Linux and Windows Server.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry certifications such as CDCP or higher.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
