Role Summary

The Supply Chain Analyst - Duty Drawback plays a pivotal role in managing the JJE Duty Drawback Program, reporting directly to the PC&L Manager. This position is based onsite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee, maintain, and implement a compliant duty drawback program, ensuring thorough data and document collection (import, export, receiving, manufacturing, etc.) and conducting audits prior to claim submissions.
  • Direct the workload of the duty drawback broker, ensuring accurate data and documentation for timely claim submissions.
  • Analyze import and export activities to maximize refund opportunities.
  • Monitor the sufficiency of drawback bonds and collaborate with Customs Regulatory for necessary bond adjustments.
  • Manage and document duty drawback refunds, ensuring proper allocation to relevant business areas and reporting to Finance.
  • Drive process enhancements in collaboration with Manufacturing, Accounting & Finance to optimize refunds per manufactured unit.
  • Coordinate with the outsourced broker for Drawback Desk Reviews/CF28 responses.
  • Stay informed on federal regulation changes affecting the duty drawback program and assess their impact on current processes.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses for SEI and affiliate businesses to leverage Duty Drawback and Foreign Trade Zones.
  • Advise U.S. business units on Duty Drawback and Foreign Trade Zone strategies to ensure compliant duty optimization and recovery.
  • Proactively collaborate with business areas and the Customs Functional Excellence team to advance digitalization and modernize data collection/processing for the Duty Drawback program.
  • Maintain and update existing drawback Manufacturing Rulings, and prepare and submit rulings for new activities.
  • Ensure that Drawback Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions are current, developing new Procedures/Templates/Forms/Fact Sheets as necessary.
  • Provide Duty Drawback training to peers, colleagues, stakeholders, and businesses to enhance compliance awareness and knowledge within JJE.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience in a related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of proven experience in U.S. Customs Duty Drawback.
Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist is required.
In-depth knowledge of CFR 15 and 19, particularly Duty Drawback Regulations.
Hands-on experience with ERPs, preferably SAP, and Global Trade management software.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to propose corrective actions.
Highly motivated with a strong ability to self-organize and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio) and other analytical tools.
Strong analytical skills; knowledge in data analytics is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently with a disciplined approach.
Experience working with cross-functional teams across various time zones.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for effective interaction with diverse teams.
Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
