Job Title: Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team at Vaco. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process for our construction clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the accounts payable process, including processing vendor and subcontractor invoices, ensuring compliance and timely payments.
  • Support project managers with financial inquiries and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Handle compliance documents, prepare annual 1099 forms, and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Assist with invoice coding for job cost controls and recommend cost-effective methods.
  • Perform additional accounting tasks and special reports as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience in Construction Accounts Payable or a combination of relevant training and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Basic understanding of general construction accounting principles.
  • Quick to adapt to accounting software; experience with Viewpoint is strongly preferred.
