DispatchHealth is on the lookout for dedicated Medical Technicians to enhance our expanding clinical team in the Washington, DC region.
We seek motivated, diligent individuals with exceptional organizational and customer service abilities to collaborate with our Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, alongside our CLIA certified mobile laboratory.
This role will involve direct patient care, providing a valuable opportunity to gain ongoing experience. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be available for this rewarding position in mobile healthcare. A current Licensed Practical Nurse license or certification as a Patient Care Technician in the District of Columbia is required.Your Responsibilities:
Operate under the guidance of licensed NP/PA providers and execute tasks assigned by them.
Collect vital signs and assist in patient evaluation and monitoring.
Perform IV starts and blood draws (as permitted by state regulations).
Apply splints under NP/PA direction.
Assist with wound care under NP/PA supervision.
Engage directly with point-of-care laboratory equipment, including its operation, calibration, and upkeep.
Conduct EKGs for NP/PA interpretation.
Support NP/PAs in the daily operations of a mobile healthcare unit.
Maintain documentation and manage supplies and inventory.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse or Patient Care Technician certification in the District of Columbia.
- Preferred: Phlebotomist registration with the District of Columbia.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Capability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to navigate multiple flights of stairs with ease.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
