Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at the University Village. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our guests, utilizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to faculty, staff, students, and guests.
- Prepare food items according to recipes or instructions provided by the Chef, adhering to proper knife handling procedures.
- Assist the Chef in other areas of the kitchen as assigned, maintaining inventories and cleanliness of facilities.
- Maintain kitchen sanitation program, complying with standard food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Adhere to department service standards and all health, safety, and University rules and regulations.
- Attend and participate in meetings as required, reporting to station ready to work at the scheduled time.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Must successfully complete the culinary skills test administered by the Executive Chef.
- Knowledge of all kitchen equipment, small or large scale, and both restaurant and banquet style cooking.
- Demonstrated customer service experience and ability to effectively communicate in English.

- High School diploma or equivalent, with specialized or technical training in culinary arts.
- 2 years of experience in a restaurant, hotel, or high-volume banquet and catering operation.
- Culinary School diploma and knowledge of kitchen management principles.
