Job Summary

This part-time Patient Experience Representative position at Boston Children's Hospital is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on our patients and families. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing patient encounters, and supporting the smooth operation of our inpatient unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide positive and effective customer service to patients, families, and visitors
• Collaborate with referring providers and practices to ensure seamless care coordination
• Obtain required authorizations and compile patient and staff schedules
• Schedule patients and support the patient encounter process

Check In / Check Out:

• Greet and direct patients, families, and visitors
• Monitor daily schedules and coordinate flow with clinicians and supervisors
• Reconcile payments and prepare deposits, providing a record of transactions in Hospital systems
• Facilitate and direct communication with Financial Counseling

Administrative:

• Record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, and initiate calls for emergency services
• Provide routine clerical support as needed

Requirements:

• High school level of education, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
• Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
