Job Title: Environmental Service Technician

Join our team at Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center, a leading provider of healthcare services, as an Environmental Service Technician. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and follow work assignments from supervisors on a daily and monthly schedule.
  • Read and handle chemicals safely, ensuring the well-being of yourself, residents, and colleagues.
  • Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, including water mop buckets and garbage bags.
  • Distribute clean linen and supplies to other departments.
  • Operate floor machines and perform pre- and post-operation cleaning tasks.
  • Run automatic floor machines and perform cleaning tasks throughout the building, including washing windows, shampooing carpeting, and washing walls as assigned.
  • Understand and perform procedures for stripping, waxing, and buffing floors as assigned.
  • Follow safety practices, including floor signage, locked closets, and properly stored chemicals.
  • Remove trash and transport soiled linen at the start and end of each shift day and evening.
  • Clean elevators and emergency staircases daily and as assigned by supervisors.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness of common and public areas of the facility.
  • Perform duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility's corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws.
  • Adhere to the facility's confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees, as necessary to perform job duties.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions and communicate orally and in writing issues related to work assignments.
  • Ability to cooperate with other staff members.
  • Ability to use equipment as required for the job.
