About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Specialist 3 to join our team. As an Environmental Specialist 3, you will be responsible for leading and supervising professional and non-professional staff in the completion of environmental review and control tasks. You will also be responsible for supervising and planning field studies, surveys, inspections, and investigations related to environmental impact statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and direct a review team to assess Environmental Impact Statements received under state and federal statutes and regulations.
  • Supervise and conduct investigations, utilizing all available sources, and all other parameters necessary to the evaluation of a proposed facility.
  • Gather technical or scientific data to assist in the assessment of social impact of a proposed facility.
  • Interpret bacteriological and chemical analyses, and compile reports upon data so collected for utilization in the valuation of Environmental Impact Statements.
  • Identify and interpret information collected on distinct, diversified communities, understanding various cultures and their respective values and how they could be affected by a proposed action.
  • Supervise and conduct tests to collect data for permit evaluation.
  • Provide technical guidance to assigned employees.
  • Supervise and investigate complaints of violations or social concerns and supervise and prepare reports on findings.
  • Supervise and conduct inspections of permitted activities to ensure compliance with permit requirements.
  • Supervise and prepare reports on findings and conclusions and make recommendations to management.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in one of the Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences/Studies, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Environmental Planning, Physical Geography, or in Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Bio-resource Engineering.
  • Three (3) years of experience in environmental control work including field investigations, inspection, and preparing reports on the environment or the preparation or review of Environmental Impact Statements.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
What We Offer:
