Job Summary

Draper is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a critical member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring a timely and cost-effective transition from research and development through full-rate production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement long-term production planning, supply chain identification and evaluation, technology transfers to vendors, risk assessments, and ramp-up to full-rate production.
  • Collaborate with product development teams and qualified suppliers to ensure manufacturability of designs.
  • Develop detailed production plans with clear timelines and milestones that integrate with the overall program plan and schedule.
  • Identify and evaluate critical suppliers.
  • Drive multiple transition to production efforts at disparate locations.
  • Develop consistent production performance metrics for internal and external operations.
  • Monitor and manage risks and opportunities within area of responsibility.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork among program stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve program processes and outcomes within area of responsibility.
  • Communicate complex technical topics to the customer and Draper leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field.
  • 10-15 years experience in Product Engineering or related field.
  • Experience/working knowledge of handling Classified and Controlled Unclassified Information (Contract Security Requirements, DoD form 254).
  • Familiarity with MRL/TRL methodology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Security clearance.
